Frequently Asked Questions
What is unique about CleanerOffices?
The technology behind cleaning has changed a lot in the last 5-10 years. It’s not enough for your janitor to just make things look nice. The CleanerOffices® Program goes much deeper to remove the maximum amount of dirt and kill germs at each cleaning creating a healthier work environment. Our technicians are trained to use the CleanerOffices Core 5® Process and protocols.

Are germs harmful?
Germs are everywhere, and you cannot see or smell them. While most germs are harmless, some can make people sick. Viruses cause illnesses such as cold and flu. Bacteria are found on almost every surface and can cause infections, diarrhea and illness. Fungus and mold live in warm, moist areas such as showers, restrooms, kitchens and near windows. They can cause skin infections and breathing problems.
What does “clean” mean?
We all have our own idea of what “clean” is. In the past, if a facility looked and smelled clean, then it was thought to be clean. Even if a facility looks and smells clean, it is not clean until you have killed and removed germs.
What is cross-contamination?
Cross-contamination is spreading germs from one part of the facility to another. For example, if you clean the toilets with a cloth, then use the same cloth to clean the kitchen tables, you could spread germs from the restroom to the kitchen. Another common source of cross-contamination in office cleaning services is mopping. If you dip a string mop into a bucket of water that is dirty from use in another area, then you continue to spread germs from floor to floor.
What are hospital-grade disinfectants?
“Disinfect” means to kill germs (a disinfectant). Different disinfectants kill different kinds of germs. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) a hospital-grade disinfectant kills three specific types of germs: Staph, Pseudomonas and Salmonella. These 3 pathogens cover the broad scope of germ killing that is required in hospital and healthcare facilities.
Do microfiber towels make a difference?
Microfiber towels might look like regular towels, but they’re not. If you looked at them closely with a microscope, you’d see channels that have the amazing ability to grab and hold dirt, germs, and water. Microfiber is available in many colors. The CleanerOffices Core 5® Process uses specific colors for specific cleaning tasks to prevent cross-contamination.
Why is No-Dip mopping important?
CleanerOffices’ No-Dip Flat Mopping System ensures the mop is never dipped into dirty water. This significantly reduces cross-contamination. Plus microfiber mop pads pick up more dirt than traditional string mops and the mop design makes it easier to get in corners and hard to reach places.
What is green cleaning?
Green cleaning refers to using cleaning products and techniques that do not harm the environment. Commercial cleaning equipment and chemical manufacturers continue to provide green cleaning options to the janitorial services industry and office cleaning customers.
How is a HEPA-Backpack vacuum different?
HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air. This technology allows the vacuum to help improve air quality by removing dust and allergens from the air. These powerful, yet quiet machines capture 99.97% of airborne particles as small as .3 microns. Traditional upright or canister vacuums only remove about the half the particles so they leave a lot of dust in the air which settles back on furniture, fixtures, and floors. And since the vacuum is worn on the back it allows for quicker movement and more efficient cleaning.
How is CleanerOffices eco-friendly?
CleanerOffices believes that creating a cleaner, healthier environment and providing an eco-friendly commercial cleaning program are compatible goals. The CleanerOffices Program recommends Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP) as a hospital-grade disinfectant that uses hydrogen peroxide as its active ingredient and is very effective at killing germs. The color-coded microfiber towels and mop pads use up to 90% less cleaning solution than cotton clothes and can be washed and reused up to 500 times. HEPA filtration vacuums help improve air quality by capturing airborne particles as small as .3 microns. A no-dip flat mopping system with self-dispensing bucket uses less water and cleaning solution than a traditional string mop and bucket and reduces cross-contamination.
How much does office cleaning cost?
Size of your facility, frequency of service, complexity, building layout and your specific cleaning needs are a few factors that affect pricing of commercial cleaning services. Basic service for a small office once or twice a week can range from about $170 to $250 per month. Basic service for a larger facility can range from about $800 to thousands of dollars per month. Special services, such as cleaning carpets, buffing or refinishing floors, or window washing, are offered at rates competitive in your market.
How does CleanerOffices calculate price?
A CleanerOffices representative will discuss your expectations, priorities and budget, then measure your cleanable square footage and review the condition and layout of your facility. Using that information the consultant will create a proposal and Service Plan for you. Pricing is based on ISSA industry standard rates for the services included in your Service Plan. Be wary of janitors who give you a price without seeing your facility and talking with you about your needs.
Do you have a Provincial Accounts program?
Yes, CleanerOffices offers special pricing and service programs to customers with multiple locations, such as a regional footprint. One contract for janitorial services can alleviate many headaches. Contact us for info.
What’s included in a basic cleaning?
A basic or “regular” commercial cleaning program includes dusting and wiping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom disinfection and trash removal. Your Coverall Service Plan can be customized to meet your needs. If your facility needs extra services, you can supplement your office cleaning program with carpet cleaning, hard floor care, window cleaning, upholstery cleaning, event cleanup and other specialty services.
What is the Core 5® Process?
The CleanerOffices Core5® Process is a set of advanced commercial cleaning tools combined with hundreds of specialized cleaning protocols that CleanerOffices has developed over years to create cleaner, healthier work environments. What kinds of facilities need a healthy cleaning?
You might think that the CleanerOffice Health-Based Cleaning System® Program is something that medical offices need. But the fact is that everyone wants a professional, healthier cleaning program that emphasizes removing dirt and germs. The CleanerOffices® Program uses specific cleaning protocols for each work environment and facility type.
Who will clean my facility?
Your facility will be cleaned by a local, bonded and insured sub-contractor or an employee of our own who have been trained and certified to deliver the CleanerOffices® Program.
